Photo of the Day: Overactive Brain by Jasontheaker“I have often come across other landscape photographers criticising the ‘cliché snapshot’. Oversaturated, lacking in originality and void of subtleties. Now I understand and partly agree with many of the points put forward in their arguments and I personally put quite a bit of effort into trying to avoiding the obvious, (but I’m sure for some, I do massage the wider target audience’s sensibilities from time to time)…”

Photo of the Day: Beyond Bolderwood by Noel1664“I got up early for this one, I knew that the mist was out. I was hoping for deer as well but didn’t see one. I still think that photographing forest is the most challenging photography, trying to make a scene look interesting.”

Sunday’s Photo of the Day: Travel to Sunbathe by Lisa Langley Photography“Taken In Pattaya, Thailand. In January 2011 a re-visit to Thailand excited me, I had a DSLR this time so I was hoping to capture some of those familiar memories we had when we were travelling 10 years ago. However, I saw Thailand from a different perspective this time and witnessed more of the tourist side as apposed through the young travellers rose tinted glasses. This is one image that definitely reflected this part of Thailand.”

Monday’s Photo of the Day: Red Valley Burning by Kani“The characteristics of the rocks of this natural formation present different colours and aspects under sunrise and sunset light conditions. Here, the heavy, dark storm clouds did keep the light on the ground and reflected it over the rocks which helped me to show this rare combination of ambient and direct lights of the sunset over the red valley of Cappadocia…”
